DC Justice Lab is a not-for-profit advocacy/legal organization based in Washington DC with an activist approach to using research to drive radical change.  We are a team of law and policy experts researching, organizing, and advocating for large-scale changes to the District’s criminal legal system. We develop strategies and solutions that are evidence-driven, community-rooted, and racially just.  We aim to fully transform the District’s approach to public safety and make it a national leader in justice reform.

Brief Position Description:

DC Justice Lab seeks an inaugural CEO who is passionate about arming changemakers with actionable information/research to eradicate inequity in the law, educating the community about levers of powers, and radically overhauling how we punish people. Our work is focused at the intersection of advocacy, lobbying, policy change, legislative affairs, social justice, racial equity, and legal reform.

A successful candidate is a seasoned organizational leader with the strategic, tactical, and management expertise to be a partner in the business planning of DCJL’s 501c3 operations. They will oversee all aspects of an internal team, including establishing business goals, advising the board of directors on organizational activities, optimizing financial performance, providing leadership to all staff, overseeing and streamlining daily operations, externally representing the organization, and executing special business projects.

Location: Washington DC (Remote)

Pay Range: $150,000
